MAKE YOUR OWN NAIL ART STAMPING PLATE + butterfly nail art

How to make your own stamping plates for nail art?!

Back in 2010 when konad and those other stamping sets became really popular on YouTube, I thought; "how cool would it be to make your own stamping plate?". My first thought was to use polymer clay and edge a pattern into it... it might work, have't tried it - the reason why I chose not to do that, is because polymer clay are not the best 'long term friend' for solvent based products such as nail polish and nail polish remover.
I stopped thinking about it for a long time,.. but yesterday, an idea popped in to my head! I tested it out right away and it worked!. In reality it's extremely simple if you have the right materials, and the reason why I haven't had the idea before is definitely due to that reason - in 2010 I didn't have those materials already.

I made a video for my YouTube (SCSnails) showing how to make your own stamping plates from scratch, using stuff that you might already have at home (if not, it's stuff that everyone can get their hands on)   :)

The video will be uploaded on my YouTube later today, and I would appreciate very much, if you'd be kind enough to give it a 'thumb up' and share it. I would love for as many people as possible to see it.
Also, if you do decide to try it out yourself (and make a blog post, video or something similar) please do give me credit and put a link to my video. I might be a simple idea, but I've never seen anyone else do it.

Also, this is my most recent nail design, the tutorial can be found on my YouTube channel;

the Grudge nail art

Continuing with the halloween and horror theme - I decided to make some nails inspired by 'the Grudge'. I watched the movies when they first came out, and I don't really remember much except the basics; ghostly girl and boy, that gurgling noise and the black hair coming from the upper corner of the room ;)
But I do remember having laugh attacks throughout the movies... that's my general problem when it comes to horror movies; I'm always able to point out something funny.. But I still like them, and I've yet to find one that I find scary.

I painted the eye and the boy to match the first 2 posters - and wrote 'the Grudge' as well. The rest of the nails have the look of hair to match :)

Tutorial will be up on my YouTube

Stitch nail art

Since I started my tutorials for halloween designs pretty early, I decided to change it up for this week's tutorial - so instead of staying within the horror theme, I made some bright nails inspired by Disney's Stitch :)

I made the 3D Stitch pieces with acrylic and painted on some of the details using acrylic paint.

The tutorial will of course be posted on my nail art channel on youtube - SCSnails

Poisonous Spiders

A not so creepy halloween design :) Tutorial can be found on my YouTube.
I was inspired by the idea of halucinating after being bitten by a spider - I imagined how you would start seeing everything in bright colors, haha. Though I'm not sure that's actually how it works.

The tips have an ombre/fading effect going from the edges towards the center - from a dark purple, to pink, orange and finally gold.
On top I painted the design itself which includes spiders and a random tribal-flame-branch-ish design.

Purple Shimmer + Saw

A little behind with updating the posts on here - so I have 2 designs to show.
First one is a super simple purple design with yellow stars. It can be found on my YouTube channel.
The base is a purple fading effect, it was decorated with crushed shell and mylar sheets and topped off with some handpainted stars :)

Second design is the first of this year's halloween designs *evil laughter*. Even though we don't really celebrate halloween here in Denmark, I see no reason for me not to make horror themed nails. I'm a fan of horror movies - especially the classics.
So,.. I made some saw/jigsaw inspired nails with blood splatters :)
